Like visiting an old friend, you can always count on a great neighborhood restaurant to alleviate your rainy days. With house-brewed beers, and a seasonal chef-driven menu – an early dinner at Mad Fox Brewery was the perfect ending to a torrential downpour.
You’re immediately greeted by grand, metal-barreled towers as you enter the double doors to Mad Fox. Proof of their house brewed beers. Pictured above, is a Summer Ale with a bright, toffee-like finish that made it perfect to sip between bites of my carbonara pizza.
I’m one of those people that will occasionally order breakfast for dinner when I’m at a diner, simply because breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day. So when I noticed that one of their hand-tossed, artisanal pizzas featured caramelized onions, La Quercia prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella with a cracked egg on top – I figured it was the perfect way to brighten up an otherwise gloomy afternoon. Burgers, pasta, ramen or pizza – you can pretty much crack an egg on top of any dish, and I’d be interested. And like sunshine dripping off every warm slice – that creamy egg yolk made this my new go-to pizza at Mad Fox.
With that said – not only is the their innovative menu filled with great quality options, but Mad Fox also features a 63 foot long bar that makes this one of the best spots in the area for happy hours and get togethers.
